MILLER BAY HOUSE - CAPE SAN BLAS, FLORIDA
Cape San Blas, in the panhandle of north Florida, is home to St. Joseph State Park, and is highly rated with some of the finest white sandy beaches in the world. It is located in the vicinity of Panama City, Mexico Beach and Apalachicola, Florida. This hidden treasure is a narrow 20 mile long peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Bay. This bay is one of the world’s most pristine waters, noted for its clarity and abundant variety of marine life. The red fish and speckled trout fishing are unequaled in other waters. Swimming, snorkeling, scalloping, skiing, fishing and boating provide entertainment opportunities for every family member.

This home, simply called the “Bay House,” is located directly on St. Joseph Bay and has a 500 foot dock. One of the most attractive features of this home is that it is located on a large tract of undeveloped land offering privacy and exclusiveness not often available with such valuable properties on the coast.

Magnificent white sandy beaches and the dunes of Cape San Blas are located directly across the road only a couple hundred yards away. The sunsets there are among the most spectacular you will ever see and may be equaled only by the sunrises across the bay as viewed from one of five porches that overlook it from this marvelous home.

Cape San Blas is a quiet family recreational area with little commercial activity. However, within 25 minutes you can be in the quaint town of Port St. Joe or the bustling “old” fishing port of Apalachicola, known for its seafood and world famous oysters.

Plan to spend the day browsing in a variety of unique shops featuring art to antiques, home furnishings, a pet boutique, gourmet kitchen shop and epicurean delights on every block!

The restaurants in Apalachicola and the St. Joe area serve a variety of truly delicious food whether you fancy filet mignon, Mexican cuisine, fresh seafood, or homemade Spanish custard.

This 7 bedroom, 6½ baths home combines whimsical touches throughout and has the vintage feeling of an old-fashioned beach home where comfort abounds. The furnishings are “shabby chic “featuring sea-weathered pieces and antiques combined with cheerful colors and local coastal flavor.

“MAIN“ FLOOR DESCRIPTION
The home’s main floor features 3 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, several sitting areas in the great room, a dining area and an especially large open kitchen with 2 refrigerator/freezers , an ice maker and abundant counter space. There is also a laundry room on this level.

The custom made 4’x10’ maple butcher-block dining table overlooking the bay provides an inviting venue for sumptuous dining and lingering conversation. The nearby fire place certainly adds to the atmosphere.

This massive stone fireplace in the great room along with hand hewn cypress beams plus walls and ceilings of Ponderosa and white pine give this magnificent area a feeling of cozy warmth in spite of its grand dimensions. The panoramic view of the bay is mesmerizing from every angle of this great room.

Also on the main floor, guests will be pleased to find a private office with wireless DSL, printer, scanner and fax. An old roll top desk and comfortable furnishings make your “work away from home” pleasant and relaxed.

The large main level master bedroom suite has a king sized four poster bed, a sitting area with see-thru fireplace between it and a spa tub located in the spacious master bath, which includes a soothing steam shower.

With calming pale turquoise colors in the master suite, along with area rugs by designer Claire Murray featuring the seashore and flowers of Nantucket, the private porch and wicker swing overlooking the bay bring the freshness of sea and sky inside to this fabulous master retreat.

Another main level guest room features a bright blue iron king size bed with a jazzy patchwork quilt and an island motif, making one feel as if they are vacationing in a colorful Caribbean cottage complete with a private screened porch and old swing overlooking the bay. Both of these main level bedrooms and private porches are ideal spots to relax and enjoy the tranquility of this lovely place.

The 3rd main level guestroom features 2 twin beds and has the nautical look of Old Key Largo. Shelves filled with old jars, shrimping nets, shells, buoys, and weathered wooden headboards give this room yet another theme and cozy feeling. The private bath is an added asset to each of these main level bedrooms.

UPSTAIRS DESCRIPTION
The upstairs features a large game room with wet bar. This area opens onto a screened porch providing great sunset views. Guests can entertain themselves at the pool table or playing games at the “poker” table. There is also a laundry closet with stackable washer/dryer.

The upstairs has accommodations with 4 more bedrooms, making a total of 7.

Two of these are “other” master bedroom suites with king size beds, private baths, and feature sitting areas and private screened porches overlooking the beautiful bay. This is a perfect setting for sipping early morning coffee as the sun rises over the water, or to enjoy a cocktail in the evening as your day of leisure comes to a relaxing close.

The other upstairs bedroom has a comfortable king bed, private bath and a fabulous Hawaiian “fish” motif!! Color and fun abound in each room and this is no exception. Hidden lofts also provide surprises as guests explore this fabulous house!!!!

The 4th upstairs bedroom is small and cozy with 2 twin beds and is adjacent to one of the large master suites, making it ideal for children or additional guests.

All in all, this wonderful home offers 5 bedrooms with king size beds and private baths, plus a main level bedroom with 2 twin beds and private bath, and another upstairs bedroom with 2 twin beds adjacent to a master upstairs bedroom suite.

There are a total of 5 screened porches in addition to 2 large front and back porches complete with old rockers, colorful Adirondack chairs and views of the bay and old Florida pines.
